This building is now on the ‘local list’, not quite a listed building but recognised as being important. The recent addition of window boxes and other plants have enhanced the frontage.
Behind this building is an open parkland area. part of which is laid out as a bowling green The Stirchley Social and Working Mens Cub formed a bowling team and this became their home for the next eighty years. A splendid pavilion was built and the club progressed, winning several awards. In the 1960’s, younger men were encouraged to join A change of title enabled the team to play County matches and individual and team honours were won.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https://www.stirchley.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/hazelwell_hall.jpg” _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” title_text=”hazelwell_hall” force_fullwidth=”on” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]

Hazelwell Hall

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://www.stirchley.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/meeting-house.png” _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” title_text=”meeting house” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]

Friends Meeting House

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://www.stirchley.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/smithy.png” _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” title_text=”smithy” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]

The Village Blacksmith outside the Smithy next to the Three Horseshoes

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Corner of Pershore and Ash Tree Road in the fiftiesRecently rebuilt and widened Pinapple Bridge approx 1930Taft Cars Pershore Road / Hazelwell Lane, 1969Friend Meeting House and Stirchley Park. In 1882 the Bournville Factory Meeting met in a small dining room near to the station They moved into Stirchley Institute where their various groups […]

["post-334","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
